Aircraft Mechanical Engineer - An aircraft maintenance engineer (AME) ensures the airworthiness of an aircraft, whether it is a fixed-wing aircraft or a helicopter. They identify problems and repair and overhaul aircraft structural, mechanical and electrical systems. Ame is personnel responsible for releasing an aircraft or component after maintenance. Ame's ensures that the aircraft meets current airworthiness requirements and is in a condition for safe operation throughout its service life. Ame repairs, overhauls, inspects, replaces, modifies or adjusts an aircraft or component. The aircraft maintenance engineer is responsible for ensuring the proper and safe operation of the aircraft. This work includes assessing and managing repairs, performing regular inspections and updating the aircraft as necessary. People in this role must be trained and certified.

The AME is assigned the role of certifying the serviceability of the systems maintained on the aircraft such as engines, hydraulics, autopilot, communications, radars, landing gear, etc. The AME is the sole arbiter of safety while the aircraft is on the ground. The AME signs a written release certificate when he/she is 100% confident that the aircraft is safe to fly.

Today's modern transport aircraft are extremely complex machines. Many different types of technology are implemented in these modern aircraft. Passengers and crew on board are completely dependent on the reliability of aircraft parts and equipment. Therefore, the job of aircraft maintenance engineers requires much more than skills and training. The work requires great responsibility and logical thinking.

Mechanical Engineering Careers

Airlines around the world are constantly expanding their flight capacity and adding more advanced new generation aircraft. This has resulted in a significant demand for aircraft maintenance personnel. And this demand will grow further in the next 20 years

Working in state-of-the-art laboratories and an impressive aircraft hangar, you learn hands-on by working on both fixed and rotating aircraft. Your instructors will guide you through techniques as you work with components such as hulls, engines, l and hydraulic systems, propellers, . You will also learn the underlying theory and knowledge base that will serve as a launching pad for expanding your career.

Aircraft Maintenance is so robust that it will also offer the basic training required to obtain an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license. As an AME certificate holder, you will be qualified to certify (or release) aircraft for flight after completion of maintenance, inspection, repair or modification. The importance of this responsibility cannot be understated. To this end, this program will be comprehensive and will require you to be dedicated and focused throughout the learning process.

Category B1 license holder to issue certificates of release to service and to act as support personnel after maintenance carried out on the airframe, power plant, mechanical and electrical systems, to work on avionics systems that require simple tests to prove their serviceability and which do not require troubleshooting, in relation to the type of aircraft approved in the certificate.
