The Defense Air Force Training Academy (DATA), a contract training organization run by BAE Systems in partnership with Pennant Trainnig Systems, provides all aviation technical and engineering training at the RAAFSTT. Military training, guidance and management of the development, discipline and welfare of students are provided by RAAFSTT staff. Both RAAFSTT and DATA work closely together to develop and promote the attitudes and behaviors required in trainees for their work in the ADF maintenance environment.

Aviation Industry Trying To Fix Mechanic Shortage

The RAAFSTT is one of the most diverse training units in the Air Force. This faculty has about 900 students and alumni annually and is responsible for conducting more than 25 different technical courses. In addition to managing maintenance processes at all levels, RAAFSTT graduates maintain aircraft, avionics components, weapon systems, critical aircrew support equipment and other technical equipment.
