Columbus Metropolitan Airport is 20 miles from the post office. It's a quick drive from the airport to Fort Benning, but the flight options are limited. Other nearby airports include Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (175 miles) and Montgomery County Airport (115 miles).

All new Soldiers or Soldiers proceeding to Fort Benning on PCS orders must report to the Replacement Operations Center, Ridgway Building (Bldg. 35), Room 239, Second Floor, during office hours (0600 to 1600 Monday through Friday). The visitor center serves visitors first and is supported by postal workers. Those who have not been sponsored before must wait for a delay or arrange for their sponsor to meet them at the door. The Lindsay Creek Visitor Center is open 24/7, including holidays, and is located on Lindsay Creek Parkway. The Visitor Control Center (CVCC) is located on Route 8 at Harmony Church and is open from 0600 to 1400 Monday through Friday. CVCC is closed at night, on weekends and holidays.
